How SkilledVisa.uk sources, writes, and corrects coverage of UK immigration policy.

Sourcing

Every story on SkilledVisa.uk derives from an official GOV.UK record — typically a statement of changes to the Immigration Rules, a Home Office press release, a Statutory Instrument, or guidance published by UK Visas and Immigration. Each article names and links its primary source, so the original wording can be checked directly. Where a rule or figure carries a stated effective date, that date is shown alongside the publication date.

Listings under /sponsors/ are sourced from the Home Office Register of Licensed Sponsors and refreshed regularly; the official register remains the authoritative record at all times. Where company information is shown alongside a listing, it is drawn from the public Companies House register and attributed accordingly.

Updates and revisions

Articles are revised when the underlying official record changes — for example when GOV.UK updates guidance, corrects a published figure, or a further statement of changes is laid before Parliament. Substantive revisions are listed in the article's Revision history block, with the date of the change and a short note on what changed.

Corrections

Errors of fact are corrected in place, in the article body, as soon as they are identified, and each correction is recorded in the article's Revision history block alongside the date it was made. Reports of a suspected error or an out-of-date figure can be sent via the contact page.

Independence

SkilledVisa.uk is an independent publication and is not affiliated with the Home Office or any part of the UK Government. It operates as an Information Provider, not a regulated immigration adviser, and does not assess individual cases. Readers who require personal guidance are directed to an adviser regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority (formerly OISC) or a solicitor regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Complaints about regulated immigration advice fall outside SkilledVisa.uk's remit and go to the Immigration Advice Authority or the Solicitors Regulation Authority directly.
